Membership is a Privilege, Do you have what it takes?

ABOUT US: many people have misconceptions about the Fraternal Order of Police...many people think just because they are sworn and police they can automatically join the Fraternal Order of Police. To set the record straight...to become a member of the Fraternal Order of Police one must apply for membership. Applications are screened and normally another member vouches for an applicant. The applicant then has to be voted in as member of the Lodge in accordance with the Lodge Constitution...It's Not Automatic. We recruit members and are an organization of Law Enforcement dedicated to taking care of those in Law Enforcement. To all of those in Law Enforcement and in support of law enforcement; we would like the opportunity to have you as a Brother or Sister in our lodge.

Many seek to join the Fraternal Order of Police once they are in trouble...at that time they are too late...The only peron who can take care of you as a Law Enforcement Officer "Is You", through joining an organization that takes care of law enforcement and remaining an "Active Member" (PAY YOUR DUES ON TIME)

Those who are members of the Fraternal Order of Police  are asked to register to fop.net with Grand Lodge. Doing so enhances a members ability to stay connected and informed on what is happening within the Fraternal Order of Police. This is your Lodge.

Documents and forms can be downloaded from Communications & Documents page.

What's Affiliate Membership?

Effective 2007, we now accept "Affilate Members"...what is an "Affiliate Member"?... “Affiliate membership” is for those members who are employed as fulltime Detention Officers, support personnel and part-time/Reserve Officers of a Law Enforcement Agency. Benefits of affiliate membership...Legal Defense Fund, Death Benefit, and Labor Counsel...Affiliate members may serve on committees. Affiliate members shall not be eligible to hold office nor have a vote. All membership records of Affiliates shall be maintained by the respective local lodges and State Lodge. An affiliate’s membership is predicated by employment with an agency. When an affiliate’s employment with an agency is terminated their affiliation with the Lodge ends as well. When employment is terminated and the member is utilizing the Legal Defense Plan in support against termination, membership will be held in abeyance pending an outcome. Affiliates members enjoy all privileges of the organization with the exception of holding office and a vote.

About the FOP Star Logo...

The emblem adopted by the national Fraternal Order of Police is designed to remind the membership of the duties that are expected of them as a citizen, a police officer and a member of the lodge. The five-cornered star tends to remind us of the allegiance we owe to our Flag and is a symbol of the authority with which we are entrusted. It is an honor the people we serve bestow upon us. They place their confidence and trust in us; serve them proudly.
Midway between the points and center of the star is a blue field representative of the thin blue line protecting those we serve.
The points are of gold, which indicates the position under which we are now serving. The background is white, the unstained color representing the purity with which we should serve. We shall not let anything corrupt be injected into our order. Therefore, our colors are blue, gold and white.

The open eye is the eye of vigilance ever looking for danger and protecting all those under its care while they sleep or while awake. The clasped hands denote friendship. The hand of friendship is always extended to those in need of our comfort.

The circle surrounding the star midway indicates our never ending efforts to promote the welfare and advancement of this order.
Within the half circle over the centerpiece is our motto, "Jus, Fides, Libertatum" which translated means, "Law is a Safeguard of Freedom."

The FOP star logo, the FOP scroll logo, the name "Fraternal Order of Police" and the name "FOP" are registered trademarks of the Grand Lodge Fraternal Order of Police. The use or reproduction of the FOP name or logo is forbidden without the express written consent of the Grand Lodge Fraternal Order of Police.

What's the value of Membership?

The cost of membership is going up, but you won't find a better deal anywhere around.  Membership for the year is $120.00; Payments after 1 October will cause your benefits to lapse and you start accrual just as a new member would.  Don't find yourself behind the Eight Ball...

Fiscally membership runs from November to November. We actively recruit prospects and new members from April until July each year after July new members are joined at a prorated rate of $60 to completete year and $120 for the upcoming year.   We want all of our brothers and sisters in law enforcement to be afforded the benefits we have.  Our maintenance constraints requires that we collect dues in the summer until October and forward them no later than 1 November to ensure no ones benefits lapse.

The reason we are able to keep our costs so low is the fact that your officers are volunteers and are not paid. They truly provide selfless service so you can work knowing that your Brothers and Sisters have your back.  We continually look for others to assist the lodge through meeting membership and we are always looking for more members to provide some selfless service to the lodge.  Members we meet the first monday of each month to take care of the lodges business. Our lodge is run by the members who come to the meetings...be proactive and join us for a meeting...this is your lodge and we are here for you...  Membership for the year is $120.00; Payments after 15 October will cause your benefits to lapse and you start accrual just as a new member would.  Don't find yourself behind the Eight Ball...
