Membership is a Priviledge, Do you have what it takes?

ABOUT US: many people have misconceptions about the Fraternal Order of Police...many people think just because they are sworn and police they can automatically join the Fraternal Order of Police. To set the record straight...to become a member of the Fraternal Order of Police one must apply for membership. Applications are screened and normally another member vouches for an applicant. The applicant then has to be voted in as member of the Lodge in accordance with the Lodge Constitution...It's Not Automatic. We recruit members and are an organization of Law Enforcement dedicated to taking care of those in Law Enforcement. To all of those in Law Enforcement and in support of law enforcement; we would like the opportunity to have you as a Brother or Sister in our lodge.

Many seek to join the Fraternal Order of Police once they are in trouble...at that time they are too late...The only peron who can take care of you as a Law Enforcement Officer "Is You", through joining an organization that takes care of law enforcement and remaining an "Active Member" (PAY YOUR DUES ON TIME)

What's Affiliate Membership?

Effective 2007, we now accept "Affilate Members"...what is an "Affiliate Member"?... “Affiliate membership” is for those members who are employed as fulltime Detention Officers, support personnel and part-time/Reserve Officers of a Law Enforcement Agency. Benefits of affiliate membership...Legal Defense Fund, Death Benefit, and Labor Counsel...Affiliate members may serve on committees. Affiliate members shall not be eligible to hold office nor have a vote. All membership records of Affiliates shall be maintained by the respective local lodges and State Lodge. An affiliate’s membership is predicated by employment with an agency. When an affiliate’s employment with an agency is terminated their affiliation with the Lodge ends as well. When employment is terminated and the member is utilizing the Legal Defense Plan in support against termination, membership will be held in abeyance pending an outcome. Affiliates members enjoy all privileges of the organization with the exception of holding office and a vote.

What's the value of Membership?

The cost of membership is going up, but find a better deal anywhere around.  Membership for 2008 was $80.00.  Membership for 2009 is $120.00; Payments after 1 October 2008 will cause your benefits to lapse and you start accrual just as a new member would.  Don't find yourself behind the Eight Ball...

Membership runs from November to November. We actively recruit prospects and new members from April until July each year. New members are joined at a prorated rate of $40 to complete te year and $80 for the upcoming year.   We want all of our brothers and sisters in law enforcement to be afforded the benefits we have.  Our maintenance constraints requires that we collect dues in the summer until October and forward them no later than 1 November to ensure no ones benefits lapse.
